Lela D Pilates offers several teacher training workshops throughout the year that are approved for BCRPA CECs.
Many of the workshops are appropriate for personal trainers, fitness and yoga instructors as well as the Pilates Enthusiast.

These live, interactive workshops are all offered via Zoom and in-person and designed to enhance your skills as a teacher. Detailed handouts are provided to allow you to apply your new skills in your next class or session. Once you have mastered the BCRPA fundamental Pilates Mat exercises, and have progressed your students to an advanced beginner level, you will be ready to add some additional exercises to your class to create more interest and challenge for your regular students.
In the Pilates Fitness Level Two Workshop, each instructor will learn the skills to teach up to 12+ additional mat exercises and/or higher level progressions that can be safely added into your existing classes. You will also learn how to sequence your new movements into Joseph Pilates’ original Mat work.

This exciting new workshops combines using weights and other resistance tools in our Pilates Mat classes to challenge the larger muscles while continuing to honour Joseph Pilates original goal of uniform development.. Learn where in the sequence to safely add weights to maintain the flow of Pilates as well as create a balanced and fun class.

Looking at the latest information and research, this interactive lecture styled workshop will discuss osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, spinal disc issues, simplify the Spondies and review other age related issues of the spine such as kyphosis and lordosis.
This workshop is beneficial for all Group Fitness instructors, Personal Trainers as well as Pilates and Yoga instructors.

PILATES MAT WITH PROPS

If you are comfortable with the fundamental exercises, and are ready to add some additional interest and challenge for your regular students, this workshop is perfect for you. In the Pilates Mat with Props Workshop, each instructor will learn the skills to incorporate common props found in gyms and studios into our Pilates Mat class while maintaining the intent of Joseph Pilates’ original Mat work.
MOVEMENT ANATOMY REVIEW Workshop for Fitness Instructors

The goal of the workshop is to refresh your knowledge of movement anatomy through review and practical application.
If it has been a long time since you took the theory course or weight training module, this workshop is for you. Bones, muscles, movement mechanics and the effect of biomechanics, lever lengths & gravity are reviewed and practiced. Through this practice you will better understand these important concepts. You will improve your ability to analyze movements and know when and how to modify or progress exercises to ensure a safe and effective class or training session.
This workshop is very beneficial to Fitness instructors that have not taken the weight training module as it will bring to life the concepts of movement anatomy learned in your Fitness Theory course.

Pilates Fitness instructors and trainees gather with Lela for an hour or so on zoom to ask questions, share experiences, or offer support and tips to each other. It is a great opportunity to connect with other Pilates Fitness Instructors in your community. On occasion, more formal topics are pre-determined and discussed. An example of past topics are: Breaking down our more complicated Pilates movements, Improving cueing skills, or Staying Motivated. Suggestions for future topics are always welcome. 2025 dates: TBD
